Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I have been a professional performing musician for over 10 years and a private teacher for 5 years. I began playing music in high school, with a primary interest in rock genres. However, thanks to good teachers, I quickly developed a passion for jazz and classical styles. I continued this passion throughout my life, studying jazz at both Mesa College and SDSU. I currently continue to study privately and hope to do so throughout my life. There is always more to learn and ways to improve -- a belief that I hope to impart to all my students. In my years of teaching, I have helped students of all ages to achieve their personal musical goals. Regardless of whether they thought of music as a fun hobby or a primary focus in their life. My favorite part about teaching music is seeing students develop as musicians and achieve or surpass their musical goals. To me, it's important to help students see their own potential and understand how they can grow. I always try to push my students to gain a higher level of both ability on their instrument and appreciation of music in general. There is no greater feeling in the world, to me, than seeing a student improve and gain confidence on their instrument.

Our daughter had been through two previous guitar teachers when we met Ryan through our piano teacher. Ryan has brought her guitar skills to a new level as she is now reading music and applying theory to her playing skills. She is growing as a guitarist and a music student and really enjoying the art of guitar.

In a world where anyone can claim to be proficient enough at an instrument to be an instructor, it's refreshing to meet a serious musician that deserves the label. Ryan is a diverse player with a large repertoire in a variety of styles including jazz, gypsy jazz, classical, and pop. His students regularly perform in solo and ensemble situations in recitals at The San Diego Music And Art Cooperative and he also teaches separate theory classes that include advanced harmonic analysis. If you or your child would like a musical experience in which the end result includes having a competitive skill set with the top musicians in this area, Ryan's your guy.

Ryan is a great guitar teacher and accompanist. He helps me understand music theory and harmonic development of tunes. He is knowledgable, patient, and kind. His playing is unique and expressive, and he offers a new perspective on traditional musical ideas. My mind had been broadened by his perspective. Highly recommend him!
