FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge on an hourly basis for most projects. I use the "HoursTracker" app to keep track of my time. I also export all this information with all invoices so that clients can see the hours and rates as I have explained. Some projects are charged on a "per project" basis, but this mainly applies to quick-turnaround projects that do not have any opportunities for revisions.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The process usually begins with an email, and then I set up an initial phone call to either discuss the project, or just a get-to-know-you session. I explain my rates, time process and also billing. Any initial questions are answered at this time, and I either begin on our first project together, or we establish a meeting face-to-face, conference call, Skype or Google Hangouts call.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BFA in Interiors and Graphic Design. I spent 5 years working as a designer and eventually manager of an event decor and production company in Chicago. Before that, I worked in commercial and hospitality design, where I was part of the technical design and marketing teams. I also have a styling background, and did window concepts and layouts for Macy's in all of Chicagoland.
