FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every project is different, so there's no flat-rate that makes sense. Depending on the nature of a project, the need for sub-contracts, etc. that will determine the final rate. I'm very transparent about my pricing though. I charge a simple hourly rate that fits the need of the client, and charge only for the hours actually worked. Nothing more, nothing less. That means as a client, you're not locked into anything. More freedom for everyone in design and photography is a great thing. I typically charge the following for these services, independent of travel or other costs: Branding & Graphic Design: $75-$150/hr. Web Development: $125-175/hr. Consulting & Strategy: $250-500/hr. Photography: $500-800/hr. Photo post production: $125/hr. Video/Film Direction: $500-800/hr. Video post production: $125-250/hr.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I like to have a conversation. Whether it's over the phone or in person, I like to get a sense of who I'll be working with. The quality of the client is as important as the quality of the vendor. I try and get a sense of their dreams and desires to see how my work can help them align their product with their goals so we can work together to that end.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to school for marketing, but I'm self-taught in all aspects of design. Sort of. I've worked with amazing talent through the years from my roles as a junior designer to creative director. In photography, I was born with it in my blood. My godfather is a renowned portrait photographer, and I started working for him when I was 14. It was that experience, and his encouragement, that pushed me to pursue professional photography.
