Introduction: I am a professional guzheng player from China. I have been teaching the instrument for over 10 years. My students ranges from elementary schoolers all the way to the elderly, so I have the experience to teach a diverse set of students. I care about my students very much so I am always ready to listen to my students' needs, and adjust my teaching method accordingly.
Guzheng is both an ancient and a modern instrument. It is a three-thousand-year-old instrument, but it is also constantly evolving with modern times. Now it is very common for guzheng pieces to be accompanied by Western instruments like the piano. Most mainstream Westen songs can also be played on the guzheng, making it very versatile. Guzheng is therefore the ideal instrument especially if you want to stand out from the countless people who can play the piano.
I love music as it brings joys and all kinds of other emotions to the listener. I also love teaching and developing lasting relationships with my students. Each and every student is very important to me, and I want them to learn the beauty of Chinese traditional music.

Alice is an extremely friendly yet professional teacher. She most excels at teaching technique. Unlike other instruments, there is so much more to guzheng than rhythm and correct notes--one must also contend with fingering, pressure, and physical expression. She excels at identifying technical mistakes and clearly articulating solutions. She is also very open to requests if you have particular points of interest (such as classical vs modern music).

Alice is a great teacher. She has a very positive attitude towards students and always keep students interested. In the past few years, I felt I learned so much from her. She is not only a great teacher, but a great friend. Two thumbs up!

Alice is the best teacher I have met for my daughter . My daughter loves her so much :) she is enthusiastic, very very proficient and very kind. Her class likes sunshine. Her inspiration to my daughter makes my daughter be persistent in learning Guzheng. When she moves to California, my daughter got heart broken, she cries heavily for many times. We missed her so much and she will be my daughter's best Guzheng teacher forever!
