FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Each client is unique, but I generally have a pretty standard hourly rate. I'll give the customer an estimated total amount for the project and we'll enter into a contract for that amount. In software, estimations are extremely difficult and sometimes there will be a bit more or less for the project in the end.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to start by discussing the end result desired. Once I get a feel for what the customer wants, I go back and within 24 hours I give an pretty accurate estimation for the number of hours required (and thus the total price). I'll write up a contract for the customer and if it finds favor with the customer, I get started and deliver the project by a defined date.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.S in Computer Science from Brigham Young University - Idaho. I consistently attend conferences and other professional development activities to make sure my skills are up to the challenge.
