FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $30/30 minutes and $50/1 hour. I typically charge $5 to drive to the student's place, though I'm open to discuss this more in detail. Lessons are about the student, so for example, if they want me to transcribe music by ear and write it out, I will do that and show them how to play what they request. If someone is reading this, the first lesson is 50% off.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I try and find out what they are interested in and gain an understanding of what goals they wish to obtain. We then try to work together with a step by step method to obtain those goals. I try to be very flexible with my schedule and try and accommodate the student as much as possible.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied music in college and earned my degree. I have arranged and written a solo guitar book published by Hal Leonard. I recorded with a famous producer over the years and have been playing professionally since I was 22. I can play several styles of music ranging from Rock, Blues, Jazz, Classical, Folk, R&B, Country, Reggae and Latin. I have been teaching for over 12 years and music is my only job.
