FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Generally, I work on an hourly basis. But this is negotiable based on specific jobs where additional planning may be necessary or to meet a clients budget or preference.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It is important that I first gain a clear sense of where my clients are at. What are the circumstances of their current lives -- what are their basic needs that are not being satisfied and what are the biggest impediments they have been facing. With this reference, I can assess their space. Usually, a client is reaching out because they are feeling overwhelmed by their circumstances. It is useful, to begin with, the path of least resistance to give an immediate sense of success. It is really important that I understand who my client is, in terms of how they live their life and what they have the time and attention for. Sometimes they are willing to adopt the suggestion of a new behaviour, and sometimes not. In either case, it is upon me to optimise their space accordingly.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelors of art in sculpture from the university of California and a Master in Fine Art in studio art from Goldsmiths College in London. I have built furniture and worked extensively with materials and understand acutely how the installation and arrangement of work creates atmosphere. My work has ranged from architectural in scale to intricate and delicate textile works that have given me a breadth of knowledge that is directly applicable to home interiors , decor and sensibility.
