I needed some ceiling light fans installed. I also needed some smaller jobs and items repaired. Stephan was a jewel and an answer to my prayers!!! He "is honest", and he was more than reasonable (his prices): and he did a great job. He is one of the nicest people that I have ever met. I had to give him a tip and a hug when he left. My neighbors are now interested in using his services. Thanks Stephan for your outstanding performance!!

I requested help sorting out problems with my electric fences. Stephen responded that while he wasn't familiar with electric fences, he knows a fair amount about electricity. Through email, we discussed my need for someone who can look at a problem, consider possible causes, figure out what one, or ones, are responsible, and then be able to come up with a solution or two. In other words, someone who can think systematically. Stephen grasped quickly the nature of the problems, walked the fences with me, listened while I described how things have been set up and how they need to be reworked. He sent me through email a diagram of my farm's pastures with color coded fence lines. Over the course of a couple of weeks, working in 2 to 3-hour sessions, he has kept the job organized in his mind and on paper (computer screen), adding information regarding what is completed and what is next, even labeling corners so we have a common vocabulary for discussing the job; we have talked about alternatives that will improve the conduction of the electric fences overall. I couldn't be more pleased. Stephen largely works independently; I am not always around. I have no worry he is leaving gates open for horses to escape, I know he works at a good pace without being sloppy or too hurried; he thinks about what he's doing and he checks in with me when he gets to a point we have not yet discussed. And, he is good enough that I am compiling a list of other repairs I need around the place for when he's done with the fences.

I had an electrical fault in a GFCI circuit in my home and Stephen provided excellent advice that enabled me to fix it on my own. He is well educated, thoughtful, and fair. I definitely recommend him to others.

Stephen was great to work with. He did a wonderful job installing my kitchen faucet and garbage disposal. We are very pleased with his work. Will definitely seek his help again for other projects around the house.

Stephan did an excellent job for us. Very professional manner and reasonable price. We had a wobbling ceiling fan due to loose electrical box. Fan now works great, no wobble. We will definitely contact him for future projects.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Labor is $35 / hour and includes any time needed to pick up additional supplies while I'm working on the job. Parts are cost +10%.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We discuss as much about the work as is possible before I come to the job site. I do what I can to bring the anticipated tools and supplies. I learn your expectations about the job and communicate what I believe will be required in time, effort, and direction. When you agree with what I'm communicating, I'll get to work!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have worked on a number of home improvement projects with friends and mentors and have done quite a few fixes and improvements in the homes I've lived in. I apprenticed with a licensed electrician for three years and am very capable with electrical projects.
