About this pro

How does your business stand out?

I am a kind, compassionate and reasonably priced consumer bankruptcy and debt resolution lawyer. I treat my clients like family. Don't take my word for it, read what my clients say about me. Google my name and read my reviews on Avvo, Martindale and Yelp.

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

I genuinely enjoy helping people. I have always rooted for the underdog, and now I use my law license and abilities to fight for the underdogs. The greatest reward of my current profession are the sighs of relief I hear from my clients as we resolve their issues. 'There are no problems, only solutions.'

I hired Brant to help me fight a mistake on my credit report. Dealing with the creditor had been terrible to this point, and I was at a dead end. Brant was empathetic during our phone call, but made it a point to manage my expectations. In the end, we weren't able to get the creditor to change the language, but Brant was able to get me a full record of my payments from the creditor to support my dispute (which were not being released to me, neither before nor since!) He was prompt, thorough and honest. Sometimes you just need an attorney to turn to for solid advice, someone to actually help you. I recommend Brant Hodyno.

Brant was there to help me every step of the way through my Bankruptcy. He quickly answered my questions no matter the time of the day and reassured me when I had doubts or concerns. He really did make the whole process easy to follow and understand.

After eight months of searching for a bankruptcy Attorney I was fortunate to find Mr. Hodyno who stepped in and took over my case, all my fears along with it. He was never "too busy" to answer questions, return calls or advise me. Very rare!! I cannot express to Brant how grateful I am to have him on my side. I went from being a basket case to feeling protected and secure. Wish I could give him 10 stars!! His name says it all..."Compassionate Counsel." By far the best Attorney I have ever worked.

Brant Hodyno was so much more than we expected from bankruptcy counsel. Brant gave us hope, helped us, stood by us and fought for us. There is nothing more anyone could ask of him. We count ourselves blessed to have been directed to Brant. Compassionate Counsel is truly an appropriate name for his business. If you need help, please don't hesitate to call Brant.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes. Flat fee for bankruptcy, Hourly fee for debt resolution (fee is capped and becomes a flat fee if a certain number of hours are worked on a file). Need-based pricing and no fee payment plans are available, as are certain discounts. Just ask!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Free consult over the phone, via email or in person.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Many years of schooling and over a decade of experience as a practicing attorney.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I became tired of representing large corporations and had a desire to help individuals, so I switched my area of practice from corporate litigation to consumer advocacy, debt resolution and bankruptcy.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All kinds. What they all have in common, though, is that they needed my help. My clients tend to be in vulnerable positions, financially, and have no leverage or power to change their situations.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I took over a bankruptcy case to represent a senior citizen, in very poor health, from another attorney who had treated her horribly. I have spent many hours getting her case together and representing her through the process. Since she had already paid the other attorney and could not get a refund, I only charged her a couple hundred dollars to cover my expenses. The client has rewarded me with something better than money, her genuine appreciation.
