FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is based primarily on travel time and length of show. In addition, if we are playing a large venue for which I will need to set up a large PA and/ or rent extra gear, that can add to my costs.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After receiving an inquiry, if we are available I would ask about pertinent details - length of event, type of event, location, size of venue, and whether or not I need to provide the PA system. I'd ask about specific preferences regarding the music and the performance, and then base a quote on that. If the client agrees, I will draw up a simple contract and require a deposit to hold the date. Sometimes when the date is booked months in advance, the client needs to make small adjustments in start time or other details, and that's fine. I am flexible as long as the communication is clear.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.A. in voice performance, my pianist has a BFA in jazz performance, and all members of the band have extensive touring and performing experience, and are full-time professional musicians.
