FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I bill $80 per hour for my design services. I prefer to bill hourly versus billing via flat rate because some projects require more or less project management than others. This hourly fee includes design schemes, meetings, travel time, etc. Once the design is established, orders can be placed in one of two ways: I can place the orders using a trade discount (as applicable) with a 15% handling fee OR I can provide all relevant specifications and the client can place the orders (taking responsibility for tracking, delivery scheduling, etc.).
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a new client, I like to gain a complete understanding of your project scope - budget, aesthetic, functional requirements, inspirations, etc. I always ask clients to provide imagery which shows what they like and do not like. Communication on the front-end of a project is critical to ensuring that the presented design will be on point with client expectations.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended University Of Maryland where I studied Communications; I always had an interest in fashion and design but did not know interior design was my calling by the time I graduated high school. While at University, I worked at Nordstrom and interned for a summer in their Visual Merchandising department, which was a great experience. Post graduation, I interviewed for a job as an interior design assistant and the rest is history; I immediately knew I had found the right field and was the right-hand to the firm's principal, learning all aspects of the business.
