Introduction: Laura Zimmermann, Ph.D. is the founder of ACES, Academic Coaching and Education Services in The Woodlands, TX. ACES offers private academic coaching to students of all ages in math, science, reading, and writing, as well as several other subjects. In addition to providing high quality academic coaching, ACES helps students combat school anxiety by teaching them meditative relaxation techniques and organizational strategies. At ACES, we want our students to succeed no matter what challenges they face! ADHD, dyslexia, anxiety, as well as other challenges can hamper students' success and self esteem. We use scientifically proven meditation and breathing techniques that increase relaxation and self awareness, which leads to student achievement.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
$30-$100 per hour $30 per hour for academic coaching services. The first half of the session will consist of a discussion and assessment regarding learning style preferences, goals. and assessment. $50 to $100 per hour for writing services; grant, proposal, blog or resume writing.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The new client will meet with me and the tutor (if applicable) for an initial assessment. Other team members will also be invited to attend the meeting to explain how their services can further help you achieve your learning goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a doctorate degree in education and a bachelors in psychology. For the last 30 years, I have worked in education as a private tutor and teacher, as well as a program evaluator and educational researcher. Not only do I understand the art of teaching; I understand the science of learning and also the importance of looking at learning through a quantitative lens.
