FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
There are two pieces which I need in order to reserve a date for you: a contract and a deposit. The contract is simple. It basically just confirms for both of us what is included with your photography package. To keep things easy, everything is managed online. If you provide me with your email address and phone number, I can have one emailed to you in minutes. You can even sign it online. The deposit is either 50% or $500 (whichever is less). Deposits can be made via check or paid with a credit card online. If you wish to pay via credit card, just let me know and I'll email you an invoice. Remember that a date is not officially reserved until I have received both a signed contract and the deposit.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got started as a wedding photographer almost accidentally. For years, I worked as the resident photographer at a lakeside resort. It was my job to capture vacationers having the time of their lives. A few years ago, I was asked to photograph a few weddings which occur at the resort. These couples already had their own photographers, but I was given permission to take pictures as well so the resort could use the images for their marketing. As a thank you, I would send my photographs to the newly-married couples. After receiving comments like "these are better than what our photographer gave us" and "wow, we wish we had hired you instead," I decided to start photographing weddings on my own.
