Josh accepted my project on Thumbtack, and send me an electrician to do the work.
Electrician's wiring installation had several Code violations:
1. All the breakers he used were non-arc fault.
2. The wire he pulled for the cooktop was awg #12 wire, and he connected it to a single pole 20A breaker. He had read the cooktop spec before wiring; and as an electrician, he should have known that it would require a double-pole 40A breaker.
3. Furthermore, he attached more load to that single pole 20A breaker he installed for the cooktop: aside from the 40A cooktop, he attached one 1-HP garbage disposal, all kitchen receptacles (3 in total), kitchen lighting, as well as the lighting for the adjacent boiler room. All these were served by one single-pole 20A non-arc-fault breaker!
4. The service was unprofessional. He rejected to correct his work.
