FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We offer many different photography services - Graduation, Children and Family Portraits, Commercial, Corporate, Lifestyle and Pet just to mention a few, Our pricing structure varies on the type of photography services you choose.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first step typically starts on the phone or via email. At our first phone conversation I will ask many different questions to learn what it is the client is looking for in their portrait - style, location preferences, and pricing. At first not everyone that contacts me really knows exactly what they want. Through conversation and asking the right questions, I'm able to educate them on what services I offer, and what their best options are. The second step is to set up a photo shoot. Once the photo shoot is complete and depending on the type of photo session the client chooses, they may have the option to receive session files on a USB drive or DVD, order prints on-line through our professional lab or set up an appointment to meet with me at the studio to view their pictures on a large screen and put an order together.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Unlike many of the "natural light photographers" and the many new part-time on-location photographers, my education dates back to the film days. Before digital photography, the professional photographer did not have the luxury of looking at the back of the camera to see if they exposed the image properly and if it turned out. Professional photographers had to rely on their expertise and training to know how to visualize and produce the image before they even took the photograph. I was trained to study and understand lighting and learn light ratios and lighting patterns that would enhance my client's features. Proper posing to create a natural and flattering look is also important. Combining my expertise in traditional lighting and posing with the enhanced digital options we now have, gives me a great advantage over the less experienced photographers.
