FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing includes the performance, travel time and expense, load in and out, set-up/break-down of the sound system (as needed). I arrive an hour to ninety minutes prior to the event for set-up and it takes about a half-hour to load out. I appreciate loading in near the performance space if possible. Access to electricity is needed as well as some sort of lighting (outdoor evening events). I do a short sound check after setting-up. I begin and end the performance on time unless otherwise negotiated by my host. I am flexible. Performances over an hour may include a short break and those three to four hours long may include two 15-20 minute breaks. Prior to arriving for the performance; I create a set list, hold rehearsals, and make travel arrangements to the venue.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I enjoy speaking to a new client on the phone prior to an engagement to ensure that I have an overview of the event and its details. I arrive an hour to 90 minutes prior to the event, I introduce myself before loading in to confirm where to set up.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have performed professionally for over twenty years. I produced two independent CD recordings which garnered nominations from the Syracuse Area Music Awards. I teach songwriting and guitar and have a background in education K-12 (MSEd), as well as, hold a BA Music degree from University of Hawaii where I studied music theory, jazz and classical guitar.
