The estimate for the project was $97,000. The total for the project subs was $42,000. A $55,000 Mark up is way too much for a GC. So we did not choose them to do the work.Oct 16, 2015VerifiedRobert C.'s reply
Tampa Bay General Contractors has an impeccable record. We received contact information from Thumbtack, paid Thumbtack to contact this prospect and coordinate a an estimate. We did so professionally. Kye responded to our estimate stating our estimate was high and requested we "bid" a portion of work. We respectfully declined (knowing what is required for this scope of work) and wished him good luck. Kye published a comment regarding our estimate. Kye is an unemployed-unlicensed middle aged man that lives onsite. Kye stated to us that he was offered compensation for "acting" as a project manager, architect and/or General Contractor of this possible future project. He has sought out people to estimate various portions of this project and has generated his own cost analysis. However, what Kye doesn't understand, for one example, is that impact windows are required (Not what Kye specified) with current building codes and the building department. The building department is now aware of this project! Again, we wish Kye good luck but please, do not attempt to blame Tampa Bay General Contractors for anything that you are not experienced with or believe to understand. This is why we are successful with our commercial and residential customers.
Tampa Bay General Contractors has completed several projects for our company. They have always preformed well above expectations and completed everything on time and on budget. Their quality is outstanding and they truly understand the necessary intricacies of residential elevator installations. I would highly recommend their services.
