Introduction: Hello, Ni Hao, and Konnichiwa! My name is Benjamin and I offer written translation services from Mandarin-English and Japanese-English. I am passionate about serving as a bridge between the cultures of the East and West. The way in which I most enjoy doing this is through language. The way in which my translation work differs from machine translation is that unlike Google Translate, I possess an erudite understanding of the cultural context in which the target language text occurs. This understanding comes from years of studying Japanese and Chinese since I was a teenager as well as studying abroad in both Japan and Taiwan. I possess a bachelor's degree in Japanese from the University of California Irvine and a master's degree in Asian Studies from the California State University of Long Beach. Additionally, I have studied several other asian languages including Korean, Vietnamese, Mongolian, Thai, Cantonese, Taiwanese, Hakka, and Okinawan.
