FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Typically my inspection fee is $125.00. Any sampling/testing performed is $90.00 each. I do not promote testing until I have had an opportunity to inspect the premises. Sometimes testing is not necessary in order to assess the problem. This is only an effort to control initial cost
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start our process by performing an assessment on the home or business structure. This includes, but not limited to visual inspection moisture intrusion and fungal growth, moisture/humidity readings to determine outside influence for mold growth, etc. Once we have performed the inspection and determined the cause, we then might recommend air sampling to see if there is an elevation of airborne mold spores, which could be a contributor to the concern. When we have collected all the necessary information, we then will provide you with an estimate and proposal for services, which will include an outline of the service schedule.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The "mold remediation" industry is usually self regulated, so licences are not required. However, there are classes and certifications that we can acquire to provide continuing education in our field. I was certified in 2002 as a "certified mold remediator", then received my "Certified mold inspector" certification a few years later. Other experience that supports me in the air quality industry is my time in the HVAC business. I have been involved in the heating and a/c industry since a young teenager working with my father. I have continued to work in this field through a variety of areas, including repair, installation, and sales. The HVAC industry is a great benefit to providing knowledge for helping to determining mold issues.
