Kris did a really good job, but I felt a bit pressured into making a decision upon meeting him at his initial bid on the project. I was asked on the spot “if I’m agreeing to his bid?” This was before I had got my last bid. After agreeing, I got a bid back from back from buckeye tree service for the same job he was going to do plus taking out a giant tree that Kris was not going to touch, grinding all stumps, and laying top soil down (which he was not going to do either) and their quote was $400 less to do all that additional work. So I ended up paying for half of the work to be done to Kris since I had already paid him for half and he took 4 small trees (out of 9 trees total, including 3 giant trees...which were left) and 5 small bushes out which took about 5 hours total of his and his one helper’s time. Turned out to be about $350 an hour for his time. I would have rated higher because he did a very good job, was punctual, professional, and swift, but feeling pressured to make a decision on the spot along with what seemed to be a little greedy (making $350 an hour for 5 hours of work seems excessive) made me feel a little put off by the time it was over. So I ended up paying for way more than I anticipated paying to take these trees out since I wanted the largest tree taken out too and so I hired buckeye to finish the job and will pay quite a bit after paying half the job to Kris already but being left with well more than half the job left for buckeye to do. Also, I should note that I did not inform buckeye I had hired someone or what his bid price was... I just forgot to call them due to the 4th of July.
