FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer group and private lessons. Call around for pricing and you'll find my rates are very reasonable. Packages are available.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will need to gather information on clients needs. If dog needs behavior modification I will need to gather information on what behaviors the dog is exhibiting and what triggers the behavior(s). I will work with you so that you learn how to train your dog. I will teach the dog a desired behavior and then explain to you how to achieve it. I will walk you through the process until you are comfortable with doing it on your own. I would like to think of myself as more of a training coach than a "dog trainer".
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I’ve been certified through the Counsel of Professional Dog Trainers, an “independent” credentialing organization. A client should ask a trainer what kinds of methods they use (positive or punitive) and what experience they have. Look for a trainer who is a member of the Association if Professional Dog Trainers. These trainers have agreed to use fear free and/or positive reinforcement training methods.
