Introduction: My name is Suzanne Nicholas, and I've been the Chef/Owner of a personal chef business for over nine years. I am a creative, versatile, self-trained chef, skilled in the use of whole-foods, natural ingredients to prepare tasty, nutritious meals. I have expertise in many different cuisines (I.e. Mediterranean, Italian, Korean, Indian, etc), and am particularly skilled in working with clients on special diets. I have an abundance of ideas for creative, whole food substitutions to make special diet meals appealing and delicious!
I love to cook, and I particularly love to teach... I have taught cooking classes with many of my personal chef clients over the years, and am starting to make teaching a focus of my work. I am personable and approachable, and am skilled at working with clients to identify their cooking goals and meet them in a sustainable way. I'm a dedicated partner in my work, and stay with my clients until they feel confident in their new cooking skills!

Suzanne from Food Matters has been our Godsend.
We were tired of eating out and our diets had to change due too a few circumstances. She is reliable and so easy to work with. We always have some good laughs too. She is also very knowledgeable about pairing foods to together.
We consider ourselves very lucky to have found Food Matters to prepare our dinners weekly. She has also catered an event for our daughter and it was a hit. She is a must for all of your catering needs.

Suzanne recently catered a post-concert cocktail reception for our Center, and we could not have been more pleased with our experience. She provided a range of hors d'oeuvres and desserts for our group of 100+ (original number was 80, but she cheerfully accommodated a last-minute increase in the guest count!), all beautifully prepared and arranged. The quality and creativity of her food was top-notch, and our guests were impressed. Suzanne is very professional, friendly, and easy to work with. We set a budget and she stayed carefully within... no surprises! We will definitely call her again.

We hired Suzanne at Food Matters to cater a large formal Ladies' Tea (80 guests). She was a sheer joy to work with, from start to finish! Suzanne was very easy to work with as we went through the menu selection process, even providing a tasting for our Tea Team (we were thrilled)! Her professionalism and food safety knowledge was so welcome. We just loved having her around and all of our Tea guests have raved and raved about the food (even sending hand written notes to us). Suzanne's food was so delicious.....and she made the savory side of the Tea so interesting and varied (we supplied dessert, which had a hard time following her food!). Lastly, Suzanne's pricing is beyond reasonable. Any of us would and will use her catering services again. In fact, several guests came into the kitchen just after the event to meet her and to ask for her cards.

Where do I begin. I was planning for a house warming event (BBQ style) for a group of 40 people so I submitted a request for catering on Thumbtack. I was a little worried that my limited budget would be a problem to work with any caterer but still submitted my request. I immediately heard back from Suzanne and a couple of other caterers. The other caterers I heard back from were not willing to adjust the menu to fit my budget. Suzanne was so accommodating and willing to customize my menu to stay and work within my budget. She communicated with me until the day of the event asking me about details and any requests I had. She even incorporated spices from my native country. She took the time and effort to learn about a special dish from Ethiopia and made it with perfection. My guests were raving about her food the entire night saying how delicious and flavorful it was. I would hire Suzanne for other events and would recommend her service to everyone I know. It was such a pleasure to work with Suzanne!
