Dave Birkin as well as Dave B & the Hot Shots played at Smoken' Joe's many times and always attracted great crowds. Their music is versatile and, in the case of blues and New Orleans based music, very authentic. expect smiles and lots of dancing.

Dave B. and the Hot Shots provided the music and entertainment last summer when we (Woodman's of Essex) celebrated our 100th Anniversary of the creation of the fried clam. An important part of the weekend celebration was having great musicians play for the customers who waited in line to get their fried clams and those who were already eating under our tent overlooking the Essex River. Dave works with incredibly talented musicians and everyone loved the music they played. The band played for 4 hours in July with the sun beating down on them and their instruments were not the lightest or easiest to carry around in the hot sun. But they are professionals and understood they were there to entertain and celebrate with us. It goes without saying that Dave and the Hot Shots are incredible musicians, but they are also nice people to work with and we would recommend them to play without hesitation.
