Introduction: I have played since I was 4 years old. I have never lived without a piano in my home. I've taught my own children, neighborhood kids and local students. I simply love teaching and passing on the gift of music. I teach students piano in such a way as to instill confidence and most importantly ignite a life long love of the classical composers. I add into the mix Jazz and blues as students tend to respond well to this. Sight reading is stressed without beating the improvisational abilities of the student. I have a beautiful antique GILLBRANSON professional grand piano with ivory keys that is rich and a bit dark in its tone. It is not bright like the Yamaha. It lends itself to the classics.
