Introduction: I was born in Guatemala, Central America. Swimming has been part of
my life since I was 2 years old. Through all my school life I was part of
different sports teams. Swimming, Synchronized Water Ballet, Volley
Ball, Basket Ball, Track and Field to mention a few. I started my career
as an Instructor when I was 13 years old, when one of the top trainers
in Guatemala saw me in one of her classes and decided to train me and
include me in many workshops. In my early 20’s, I started working and
training with Dr. Jose Enrique Amaya, a Sports Medicine Doctor who
was in charge of the Physical Therapy and Athletic Conditioning of our
top International Athletes. For more than two decades working or
training with him I learned different types of rehab and post rehab
exercises for people who suffered of various conditions. His approach
was unique and successful. Aside from workshops, training programs,
and work experience, I had an accident and suffered a lower back
condition for more than 15 years and had three back surgeries. Being
an Aquatic instructor, I developed my own rehab, post rehab, and
athletic training program in the water with a positive outcome. I
received Lynda Huey’s Post Rehab Training Program. I was certified by
the Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA) as an Aquatic Instructor. I
have received courses in Special Populations Aquatic Training. I hold a
Life Guard License by the Red Cross, as well as being a certified Total
Immersion Swimming Coach. Through FITNESS FOR LIFE WITH
VANESSA, I have developed a series of Athletic, Aquatic, and Post
Rehab Training Programs.
My name is Vanessa Guzzardi. The style of exercise I train my clients with is what I call Fitness for Life.
My goals are for you to gain a healthy and very fit looking body with reasonable strength and endurance
capabilities, but most importantly, the ability to move and perform in all areas of your life with
confidence and comfort. The movements which I will train you to perform will mimic the many complex
and compound movements you are required to perform on a daily basis throughout your life. These will
be centralized in the core and extend to the extremities and are exactly what your body will need to do,
to function with confidence daily. You will not just be learning static movements for one muscle at a
time however realistic range of motion exercises engaging compound muscle groups. I assure you that
this will not be easy and the results you will see are dependent upon how much you will engage but
certainly they should be extremely rewarding. Routines may involve additional weights and equipment
and sometimes uncomfortable positions but you will develop muscle size, strength, balance and agility
and mostly, confidence in your ability to move through life. My programs are meant to be integrated
into a total body fitness program. For instance if you are enrolled in my core program, although you will
be using other muscle groups too, the focus will be on the core so you should also be doing other
development exercises to involve your entire body in your specific weekly routine.
