I came back to riding after a 15 yr hiatus. I was a fairly good local hunter jumper rider. I came back to learn dressage at 45 years old. I always need to know WHY...I have always understood form and function go hand in hand. My first lesson back was almost entirely walking do to all my questions. She was able to explain where and how to "use my seat"..she understands the biomechanics of the rider's body with the horse's. She can explain it, demonstrate it, and teach it. She continually works to improve herself and her teaching abilty. She always has a smile in her face! I tore my shoulder, and she worked me on a lunge line to keep me in a saddle! I am slowly relearning to ride, but it feels good to know how and why my body affects my mare..we are mismatch too. 5' tall and 16 hands! If want to learn true horsemanship and sportsmanship, give her a try! You won't regret it!

In May, 2016, I was looking for a perfect place to board my newly acquired Ranger. Someone suggested I contact Cynthia Powell-Hall and look at Erika-West Dressage. I researched Cynthia's training background and was impressed with her education and experience. I put Ranger in training with Cynthia and I started taking lessons. I have found her to be very knowledgeable about dressage and talented as a teacher. I have the upmost confidence in her ability and horse experience. I know that Ranger has the best training and facilities available which is very important to me. Cynthia is truly a master at bringing horse and rider together. Ranger and I are lucky that we found her!
