- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am based in Winchester, Massachusetts and am available to work in the greater Boston area. My November/December 2017 rate for weekend events is $70/hr with a two-hour minimum. There is no travel fee for Boston and all other towns inside the 95/128 beltway, and no travel fee for towns that are outside the beltway but within 30 minutes drive of Winchester (including Concord, Burlington, Lowell, Danvers, etc.) Sliding-scale, nonprofit, and weekday discounts are available.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For events, I bring photographs showing different possible designs, including several designs related to the theme of your party. I also like to get input from the person being painted, whether they just want to change the design to match their favorite colors or they would like me to paint something else entirely. Depending on the event, I can offer simple designs for children who are eager to spend just a few minutes sitting still or more complex designs for older children and adults.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As an artist, I have taken classes at MassArt, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Art Institute of Boston, Maryland Institute College of Art, the Center for Cartoon Studies, and the Illustration Academy. As a face painter, I have taken courses from renowned face painters at the Kapital Kidvention conference and the East Coast Face Paint Convention. In addition, I am certified in adult and pediatric first aid and CPR/AED.
