I have known Ken for many years. He has always been so passionate about dogs and training. He trained my dog, and did a fantastic job in such a short amount of time. He does amazing work/training. He's definitely your go-to guy!! He'll get the job done, no doubt about it!

I first met Ken when he volunteered at our animal shelter. He was so dedicated came in rain, snow exc. He worked diligently with our animals to help make them more adoptable and has a heart of gold. I highly recommend Ken for your training needs. If you want someone you can trust and who will love your animals as much as you then he's the guy.

A little over a month ago I was in an impossible situation with my 1 yr old puppy, Piper. Or, as we liked to call her, "Hyper Piper". Although a very happy puppy inside our home, Piper had SEVERE social anxiety. She demonstrated fearful aggression (barking, growling, hiding) towards ALL people except those in our household and all animals except her sister, our 4 yr old Golden Doodle. I was at a complete loss. I couldn't take her for a walk because of her social anxiety, yet I couldn't address the anxiety because I couldn't even walk her. That's when I decided I needed the help of a professional; someone trained in helping the dog as well as the family, in such a situation. After researching several trainers and much contemplation, my husband and I decided that hour long weekly training sessions would not be sufficient to work through Piper's anxiety and meet our needs, which was to have a well trained dog that adhered to command and who was well behaved in public. So we opted to send Piper away for 4 weeks to train with Ken at Caliber K9. This was NOT an easy decision! I was giving away "my baby" for 4 weeks! I had every range of emotion..."what if he hurts her? What if she doesn't remember me? What if he likes her better than me?" All logical questions for a dog mom, right? I can tell you, it was the very best decision I could have made. From day one, Ken demonstrated his vast knowledge as he handled my dog (my baby!). Coupled with a quiet and professional demeanor, I knew training with Ken would be a success. Once away from home, Ken was sympathetic to how much I missed Piper. He provided me daily updates via text with pictures and videos demonstrating Piper's progress. On a few occasions, after establishing Piper's trust, I was able to visit and watch first hand while Ken trained. Four weeks went by quickly (surprisingly!) and Piper made incredible strides. She battled "squirrels in her head " (as Ken likes to call it) ignoring outside stressors, learned how to walk nicely on lead, learned to climb a ladder (for confidence!), learned to stay in command, etc. While Piper still needs some continuing training (she's a very "complex" dog) the strides she made are again, incredible. Everything I asked and paid for. To ensure Piper continues moving forward Ken has agreed to meet with me weekly. These sessions are designed to train ME in handling Piper. If your dog is not a severe case such as mine, you may very well not need additional training. The progress made in 4 weeks is probably perfectly suitable for "normal" dogs. But for me these additional sessions are invaluable. Today, Piper went to the park where she encountered dogs and people, roamed PETCO, and even went into (Yes, INTO!) the mall. She "performed" remarkably! Ken only trains one dog at a time. This was a huge selling point for me. While his pricing was measurable to other board and train establishments, training with Ken meant that my dog would get undivided attention. This may very well be one of the reasons Piper has done so well. And probably most important for me, Ken evaluated Piper's personality immediately. His goal was to train Piper without stripping her of her fun and loving personality. He delivered what he promised (so grateful!) and I couldn't be happier. Today, when we meet weekly, Piper is so excited to see Ken. And she seems to genuinely enjoy her training sessions! And so do I. It's such a positive experience for both of us. If you have a dog that just needs general obedience training, or one with more severe issues like Piper, Ken is your trainer. You won't be disappointed.
