How do I start...Let's just say it's not a good review....I got in touch/connected with Amber through Thumbtack while searching for wedding hair/makeup team for my wedding. I reserved Amber in August 2018(Wedding isn't until April 2019), paid $150 deposit to hold/reserve my date. I was excited because I was getting everything done and paid for etc...so time got away from me while planning my wedding. I didn't reach out to Amber as much as I should have but as a professional she didn't even reach out to me at all...no big deal right...well i finally had some time( i also run an office all day, a full time mom so yes i do get super busy) and reached out to Amber on Jan 3rd. to see when she does her trial hair and make up run. She replied and said she had that Friday, Saturday morning and evening open but I had that weekend booked with dress fittings etc...I told her i would check my schedule and get back with her as well. She said just let her know what is a good day for her...On Feb 14th. I reached out to her asking some questions about hair, make up, meeting time, etc...She didn't reply....I tried again on Feb 19th....she again didn't reply...tried on Feb.20th...still no reply....at 6 pm during my wedding food tasting, i got a message from Amber saying "she has been with clients all day but she needs my email address to send me back my deposit, I think its best for you to find another provider." I was so upset, here i was during my wedding tasting, reading this message, thinking its February, I get married in April, how the hell am I going to find someone now in so little time??? I was dumbfounded!! How could a "professional" do this to a potential client?? I understand IF she had another opportunity arise, or she double booked herself but to tell me 2 months out that I need to find someone else is UNACCEPTABLE, after I had already booked/reserved in August 2018, 6 months after!!!!!! Thank God, I was able to find someone who seems amazing and has been in contact with me throughout this whole ordeal and who will be doing my hair/makeup on my special day....I wish i was able to leave no stars because that is what Amber would be getting. What she did to me was very unprofessional, and rude. She should not be treating potential clients like this, I don't care what the situation is and especially someone who had already reserved/booked you for her wedding day. Ladies, please be weary of who you book, I would never recommend her to anyone. It makes me wonder if she has done this before or am I the first one who this has happened to? Anyways sorry for the novel, but I had a lot that needed to be said, that ppl should read and what my "experience" was.
