As an out-of-State homeowner, I depend on the honesty and integrity of people I hire online or over the phone. My pool guy told me I needed a new pump and timer, and he could replace the dual speed ones I have, with a single speed for $675 to save me money. I decided to get a second opinion from an electrician, and found Jay with JR Electric, who wrote a very good outline of what the problems could be, and what I needed to keep the pool clean, which was the dual speed I have. I didn't know this. He took the initiative and went to the house to diagnose it, and let me know that some adjustments might solve the shutting-off problem. So all he charged me for were 2 hours at a very, very reasonable rate to test and adjust the pump and timer, and it was fixed. I was surprised to find an electrician that knew so much about pool pumps, but it is SoCal. This guy is really good, and I advise you to call JR Electric for any electrical problem with any appliance or connection problem you might have. He is honest, realistic and reasonable, and will save you time, hassle, and money when you hire him. Also, he is a really nice guy which is a huge plus for a gal like me dealing with home maintenance from the East Coast. Hire Jay with JR Electric.
