FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rate is flat as I've quoted it, so the cost per session is only dependent on how long it lasted. I allow session lengths to change each time to accommodate whatever the student needs that day.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Every student is different. However, there are always baselines that I follow. Fortunately, these differences depend on the student's needs and what s/he prefers. After gathering the material that is being learned, I work with the student through homework assignments, quizzes and practice material to prepare for tests. I help study for tests as well as write my own practice material with solutions, based off of the homework and assignments, for the student to work on and use to review more adequately; so often what is missing is enough practice on each concept. I'll work with the student through the class and help with the material as it continues. For non-local students (which is generally a great option for the student), I use Skype for the sessions as well as Dropbox to share the material being taught and organize everything. The process works incredibly well.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have completed my Master's Degree in Applied Physics after my Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Physics. This diploma entails a ton of math (more than almost any other major), further preparing me for teaching algebra, calculus, and other math, as well as physics and chemistry. My high-school GPA was 4.0 and I received an award in academic achievement from my college. I was a teaching assistant both a Calculus and Nuclear Physics class while there and graduated with both degrees in 4 years total. I have tutored over 100 students and will be compiling my own notes for this material soon to further assist students, even outside of our sessions!
