Write Way Publishing Company really cares about the quality of your book. The editing services may apply lots of red to your pages (at least in my experience!), but only to make the book better. The time and experience they apply to formatting any book project they take on means getting a book-store quality book for those of us independently publishing our books. How did you get started doing this type of work?
I didnt know it at the time, but I significantly overpaid when I published my first book. In addition to a "get started payment" of $1,500, my book price was $8.39/book if purchased in bulk or $11.82 print-on-demand. I selected the bulk price paying $8,390 for 1,000 books and keeping my own inventory. Carrying these books around for the next 3 years was painful. Although the publishing company attempted to upsell me on many additional services (such as cover design, editing, cover design and book marketing), I decided to have my book cover designed by a local graphic designer and I used my own editors. I wanted to control the cover design and content as much as possible to retain my personal touch as the author. If I had used the book printer I use now, purchasing those books would cost me under $4,500, theyd be available print on demand and I would not need storage to carry around 1,000 books!
