- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Because every project is different, I don't have a "price sheet". If I have all the details and requirements for a project, I will provide an exact price quote. However, if I project specifics by a client are sketchy, I will provide an estimate with a price range.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I belong to a number of graphic design and website related groups on Linked in and I spend at least 20 to 30 hours per month researching trends relating to user interface, graphic design, content management systems and emerging social media trends.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
While majoring in fine arts at Auburn University, I worked for the campus printing service. I found that I enjoyed the design and printing process. In the late 1980s I bought my first of many Macintoshes and embraced digital design for print. Computers gave me many more opportunities to "flex" my design wings. In the mid-1990s I realized that the "web" was going to be the next big thingbut I had no idea it would evolve so quickly to what we have today! I learned to hand code websites before there were any books on the subject and I've lost count of how many websites I have created since 1995.
