Introduction: Do try your best to feel peaceful, make good decisions, and do the right thing; but instead find yourself trapped in the same old things time and time again? We're lost. We're anxious. We're bored. We shop. We drink. We sleep. We eat. We don't eat. We don't sleep. We're self-righteousness or self-loathing, or both. We seethe and we sulk. We argue and fight.
And so it goes.
At Heyoka, you will learn to see things/yourself/others as they truly are, not just how you imagine or dream them to be. Once you see with "eyes wide open" then you can be less angry, less afraid, less sad. You'll feel more confident, make better choices, and move through life with greater ease.
Heyoka clients typically express that they have never had such a healing and lasting experience with other types of counseling before. They often confess that they were really scared to come in, but they were quickly put at ease. They never expected a therapist to care as much about them as I care, and they surely never expected counseling to actually be enjoyable.
What might your own Heyoka Counseling experience be like?

I love hearing Heyoka clients say things like this:
"I've gotta tell you, Sherry, I didn't think you were actually going to pull me out of this funk today. But you did it. I don't even know how you did it, but you did it."
"Yeah. That's it exactly. You nailed it."
"Oh. I never thought it like that before."
"I'm not even sure how it happened. But since we last met, I feel better. I don't get it."
"I've never told anybody 'this' before. I figured people would think I was crazy. But I can tell you anything and you don't judge me."
"Nobody's ever understood 'this/me' in this way before. How do you do that?"
"There's really nothing terribly wrong with me??? People always told me there was something wrong with me."
