FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge a flat rate for all lessons, at any level. In cases where a student has demonstrated financial need, I make a limited number of scholarships available to accommodate those who exhibit commitment to learning that suggests s/he will benefit from the training I offer.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music, the world's leading institute for contemporary music. While at Berklee, I studied with Donna McElroy and Paul Pampinella, and performed in the Country Ensemble (5 semesters) and Historical Vocal Jazz Ensemble (3 semesters), and took over 40 hours of music business and entrepreneurship coursework. For the last year, I have been studying toward my Master's degree at Florida State University, under accomplished operatic baritone David Okerlund, under whom I have also taken Master's- and Doctoral-level voice pedagogy courses. I am a Graduate Assistant and scholarship recipient in the Voice and Musical Theatre departments.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began my coaching career working with collegiate a cappella groups across the country. My work with them focused almost exclusively on style and performance techniques, but from this work, I learned that I have a gift for teaching and communicating. I continued this exploration through a high school musical theatre camp in Utah during the last two summers, and I began formally teaching voice when I arrived at Florida State in the summer of 2014.
