FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
As a personal chef, I charge $30 an hour over and above the grocery purchase. I prep, cook, set up, and clean up work area.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Chatting for a few minutes in person or on the phone to get to know each other. This can be done via phone or text or in a coffee shop or similar contact location. Give potential clients my number and have them call me and/or email address so that they can personally contact me. Please have them put "Thumbtack" in the subject line.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
After college, I trained as a Montessori Art teacher on Hilton Head Island where I lived for 4 years. I have catered a lot of children's birthday parties including, but not limited to, dinner parties on the beach. I lived in Fredericksburg, VA for more than 20 years and worked for a very wonderful public library system there where I worked with children and young adults teaching culinary arts and crafts. Later, I started to focus as a personal chef and, among other venues, I have cooked for a house full of foreign students.
