FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For piano, I charge $15 per 30 minute lesson. For tutoring, I charge $25 per hour for elementary aged students, $30 for middle school students, and $40 per hour for high school aged students. I usually don't go over an hour, unless there is a time crunch on a test or assignment. Other than that, I stick to the hour time frame. That is about how long a child's attention span lasts before their retention of information starts to crumble. I am a mobile tutor, so I conveniently come to your home. A travel fee may be applicable, but I usually don't charge to come to your home.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to have an initial meet and greet with my new prospective student. I like to ask them a few questions to get a feel for where they are with their level of communication, their ability, and comfort with working with someone new. I want to become a familiar face before we actually have our first session.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned a bachelor degree in Psychology at Boise State University, then pursued education at the College of Southern Idaho and hope to pursue the rest of my elementary education or special education degree at Sac State as soon as I become an official resident of California.
