FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
No. I work with clients to help them find a way to pay that is consistent with their financial circumstances, but I do expect to be paid. My fees vary based on the type of work done (full service or limited scope representation). I sometimes offer fixed fees, depending on the work that needs to get done. My hourly rates vary depending on the county or state in which I work.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For divorce, custody and guardianship cases only, there is an Initial Office Conference. I charge a fee for this conference because I like to know my clients understand that I'm running a business. I'm not a free clinic. I work with folks, but there will be costs involved. I'm not in a position to do pro bono work.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have two bachelors' degrees, one in Broadcast Communications, the other in Legal Studies; a Masters' degree in Administration and a juris doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law. I've practiced Maryland Family Law for the past thirteen years and was a paralegal in small firms for six years before I became a lawyer.
