FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First we have to analyze the patients past to find any potential limitations of the individual. Then we run some diagnostic exercises to see if there are any limitations or imbalances that the client doesn't know about. After spending time finding out about the client we develop SMART goals, and a plan to get them there.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Being a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association requires me to take continuing education courses or I risk losing my certification. The same applies to my USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach Certification and my National Acadamy of Sports Medicine CPT certification. Outside of being required to stay current in the fitness field I'm also a competitive athlete. Being an athlete I'm always testing out the current research to see its real world application.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always been an athlete and very interested in the body. I knew I had the entrepreneurial spirit so after I graduated from Duquesne it was a natural transition to start a small group and personal training business.
