- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Lessons: $60 an hour at my apartment $60/hr. - lessons over Skype I also offer shorter and longer lessons if you prefer. Playing at weddings/special events - $400/hr. for the 1st hr., $350 for each additional hr. Additional money might be necessary to travel long distances.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always try to speak with a new student over the phone prior to the first lesson to discuss his/her goals and playing experience. That usually gives me a solid idea of how to structure the first lesson. Then, at the lesson, I have the student play whatever he/she has been working on. I assess the student's strengths and weaknesses, and we go from there!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I began playing at the age of 11. I took private lessons weekly with Danny Voris in Dayton, OH for seven years. At the age of 16, I began teaching and playing professionally. I attended Capital University's Conservatory of Music from 2002-2006. I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Classical guitar performance in 2006. Since then, I have made my living playing and teaching professionally (mainly rock and classical guitar). I also do some transcribing and engineering work on the side.
