FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Unless it's a sentimental project like a wedding video or family project, the budget must be determined by what money it will make for you or save for you. Ultimately there is no other way to determine price or value. I will always charge less than the objective value it brings to you or I won't take the project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After we settle on budget and goals, I'll send a contract with everything laid out. At a minimum, I require half payment up front. I send out updates, and there's usually at least one round of changes before I deliver the final project. If physical media isn't required, you avoid sales tax too.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've attended some workshops on interview planning and setup, and I'm self-educated using various resources online. I learn quickly from people I work with as well. Every gig is a learning opportunity. Production work has to be hands-on-learning by nature.
