FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Prefer to estimate the project during the initial project meeting and establish an schedule of values. This typically involves a 30%, 60%, 90%, and Construction Documents submission, (for the municipality for application of a building permit). A flat fee or a 'not-to-exceed' amount is negotiated, with an hourly fee schedule for the overages that may result in unforeseen situations. All in all- it is a flat fee based on an estimate of the time needed to complete the project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
To have an initial meeting at the site of the project to discuss the Scope of Work for the project. The design and construction documentation of every project is dependent on the relationship between the client and the designer; therefore, the initial meeting is needed to determine the compatibility between these two parties and to determine if the experience of the architect is a right fit for the project. Most projects involves a 30%, 60%, 90%, and Construction Documents submission, (for the municipality for application of a building permit).
