FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes! I'm a member of The Bridal Society and use them for my for my continuing education. I also plan to go to conferences every year to stay up to date on trends and ways to better my business and myself.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always wanted to work in the wedding industry but never knew where or how to do that. It was after planning my own wedding that I fell in love with the process. While most brides become stressed during the planning process I enjoyed every minute of it! But it wasn't until I found a planner turned educator now, named Alison Howard that I realized I could turn this passion into a career. Watching her videos on YouTube motivated me to take a leap of faith and go after my dream of becoming a wedding planner.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
My advice is to find a planner you mesh well with. You will be working so closely with your planner and you need to make sure he or she gets who you are and what you want/need. Depending on the type of planning you could be working with this person for months to over a year so important that you get along and communicate well.
