FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard "offer to represent" is $300.00 per hour for an attorney. $150.00 per hour for paralegal. Minimal retainer is $2,500.00. There are situations where the rates or retainer can be reduced. And there are situations where the amount could be a flat fee amount. However, those are not as common as hourly representation.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
As an attorney, we use a two-step process for screening potential clients. The first involves an introductory telephone conversation with our Legal Secretary, obtaining contact information and background information on the underlying matter. This first step helps us determine whether or not the person is someone we can even help. The second step is the actual consultation with the attorney. During this free and confidential, 30-minute consultation, the attorney can analyze your matter, provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to handle, or just answer your hypothetical questions. At the end, the attorney will describe the different financial options you can choose regarding retaining Simas & Associates, Ltd. as your representative for your matter.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Law school. California attorneys also must complete mandatory continuing legal education.
