I have done numerous projects and worked with many architects. I chose Thomas Bakalars Architects for this project because after our first meeting they seem to understand our requirements and I was confident they would executed exactly the program we wanted, a two bay garage with master suite above to a 1960's colonial. Working with Thomas and his team to develop the design has been very enjoyable and they did answer all our questions and had excellent suggestions to improve the design. They were able to exceed my expectations via designing an efficient spaces, that showed a nearly seamless transition from old to new, while keeping costs within the budget. I would highly recommend Thomas Bakalars Architects for your project.

Tom was my architect on two multifamily projects
His knowledge of zoning laws and how to maximize FAR were critical to the financial success of my projects
Unlike most architects Tom understood that we not only needed an efficient and attractive interior and exterior but most importantly for the developer a design that maximizes the potential profit.

Tom designed an addition -- a large and spectacular three season porch for our home. It changed our rather typical colonical house into a really nice house. Everyone who walks into our house comments on it -- workmen, artists, friends, family, realtors. It fit perfectly with our existing house and with the yard -- it brought the pleasant view of the garden backing up to a natural area into the whole back of the downstairs. The project was not costly compared to what we gained. My husband and I highly recommend him.
