*this company put us in danger my experience with them this past weekend was unacceptable and HORRIBLE* I hired Barton to do a drop off and pick up for an event on a Friday night in Long Island city which is a 40-50 minute ride from my location. The ride would accommodate 8 females to ensure a safe sober driver for a night out for my birthday. When the driver first picked us up he was very friendly and I felt really good about the ride until in the middle of the ride he pulled over on the side of the road in a dangerous neighborhood. Our limo had over heated after half the ride. We waited over 30 minutes on the side of a road sweating in the heat worried about our safety waiting to be told what's going on (as well as missing the first half of our event) leaving everyone to become very frustrated. I (the person who scheduled the limo and is the paying customer) tried called numerous times asking for a response on what's next and the company ignored my phone call 5 times. Eventually the passengers were way too worried about the dangerous location and we abandoned the ride for an UBER. Barton still confirmed that a scheduled pick up for 130 AM was in place and we should not worry because it won't go wrong. when we got to the event we called Barton asking if the scheduled pick up time should change to an hour later because we missed half the event due to the limo break down they said no which angered some of our passengers but we settled for a 130 ride anyway. An hour till the ride pick up I received a text saying our ride is cancelled and we are stranded *i found out the next day this was because they spoke to someone (not me - the PAYING customer the one who was in charge and scheduled it) was angry and upset them which is unfair to me I should have been the ONLY One the company calls to comfirm ANY change in plan ** while that happened unknown to my knowledge I texted the company & after going back and forth the texter wrote "sorry I'm not helping you anymore I'm an automated voice message system I can't reply my shifts over looks like you're stranded in LIC good luck finding a ride you won't scare off." I'm sorry but HOW is that acceptable to say as a company? That is SO incredibly dangerous if something happened to us on our way home how would you feel saying something like that? Also, this was a text message who kept responding to my questions so please don't belittle me and pretend to be a automated text when I know you aren't (clearly since you're still responding to my questions as you're saying you cant) just because you think I'm drunk because I wasn't. This is 2016 and we all have smart phones with iMessages Etc don't lie to me. The party was mad and I decided to end the conversation with the rude company due to inappropriate and disrespectful texts. We took an UBER home and got every passenger home safely thank god. When I called the next morning to complain and make sure I'm not being charged Barton told me that the text messages were sent from ANOTHER limo company whom they gave my info to since their limo broke down? I'm sorry but I did NOT approve my info being switched over to a new company without my consent. When I told Barton how unprofessional they were they told me the 130 aM driver cancelled the ride because "he was nervous the party was really intoxicated" yea? that's why as responsible adults we hired YOU to get us home safe so we can enjoy our night safely and not be stranded in the middle of the night. I feel as if Barton put all of our safety at risk in a very potentially dangerous situation and handled it very rude, disrespectful, immature and disgusting. Never would I use their service again or trust them enough to recommend their service to anyone.

Hello Theresa, I would like to apologize for the events that occurred on Friday evening. It was our clear intention to have you and your party arrive on time, which is why our chauffeur arrived 15 minutes prior to the pick up time. Barton's Limo fleet is all maintained and serviced on a regular basis, but nevertheless sometimes breakdowns occur which are beyond our control.. We work hard to maintain a high level of client service, and you can be sure that this incident was an isolated case. In response to your review of our failed safety efforts, the driver upon experiencing car issues immediately exited the LIE to stop on the service road specifically to ensure your safety from ongoing traffic of the expressway. Your safety as well as others is our first priority. You are correct Theresa as the paying customer you only should have been the one contacted as well as the only one speaking with the limo representative that evening. Unfortunately that is not what transpired and several people within your party did contact both myself and the driver specifically and frequently, changing the pick up time later and later then the pre arranged & paid for pick up time of 1:30 am. To respond to your comment that you did not approve to give your information to another limo company. The only information we shared was the pick up location and how to contact you, as we needed to send a new driver from a third party limo company to pick you and your party up since our remaining vehicles were already out for the night. As discussed on the phone with you the next day, you have been fully refunded and not charged for any service performed by Barton's Limo or anyone else affiliated with us for that evening. We value our customers and their feedback, with each review it is an opportunity for our company to look at ways to improve. In an effort to restore your trust in Barton's we would like to extend a 25% off your next ride of 3 hours or more to show you that one experience should not be used to judge the integrity and values of our business that has been around for over 33 years.

Great experience with Barton's Limo. They provided us with an on time pick up and a courteous driver that made our Girls Night Out perfect. I definitely would recommend their services to others.
