1. Expertise and Professionalism
- When they came to provide an estimate, I explained what I wanted; extend the patio to the fence. They gave me a better option for the patio; extend the patio equidistance on 2 sides. I loved it so much, I had that idea priced by the other two companies.
- They wrote a professional estimate of services and explained in detailed their process. I used their detail to question other possible vendors.
- Their price was 3K. This initially gave me pause. But keep reading.
2. Quality
- Peer-Less uses a ready-mix delivery that improves the integrity and consistency of the concrete. I learned this through research. The other two companies would use bagged concrete. With a smaller job, I think this would be fine. But with this being a slightly larger job and an extension of my patio, I wanted to ensure the concrete was consistent with my current patio and aesthetically pleasing.
- My yard also has a sharp decline so grading the land was EXTREMELY important to me. This company utilized all the right machinery and equipment to do this job right.
3. Value and Fairness
- I mentioned that they asked for 3K to complete the job. This was more than I wanted to pay initially. (Mostly due to my ignorance and not understanding the value of the work.) However, after pressing the other two vendors on price, the materials, and their processes I learned that I much more comfortable with quality of the materials used by Peer-Less. I was also impressed with not just their process but their explanation of the process . As for the process, they reduced the price to 2500 after a job came available that would allow them to rent the machinery perform 2 jobs instead of one. They passed that savings on to me. The other two vendors would have cost a SIMILAR amount after calculating labor etc.
Conclusion:
If you want it done right and you want to be sure about the quality of the product, give Peer-Less a call. They were also extremely kind to me and a pleasure to work with. I’d absolutely use them again.
