Anything and everything happens at a wedding and we love the spontaneity and the rush of adrenalin that comes as a result. Myra is an expert at handling the music for your wedding. She knows exactly when to start and stop a piece of music. She is also a very experienced arranger and can arrange, pretty much, any special request you might have (there is an extra flat rate fee for this).

I first met Myra at Sunday Classics Club East four years ago when she asked me to accompany her in a series of violin and piano concerts. I have a Masters degree in Piano Performance from Manhattan School of Music and have collaborated with many musicians, and Myra is an especially gifted violinist with a dazzling technique, and warmth and imagination based upon serious musical study. When I retired, I wanted to fulfill a lifelong dream of studying the violin, so I became one of her violin students and got to know her as a teacher, which further corroborated my respect for her. Her greatest strength is her ability to connect with her students. She is methodical, and communicates effectively to all ages, and makes it fun to learn. She uses classic instructional texts supplemented with her own, finely developed creative teaching materials. I am especially impressed with her insistence that violin lessons include music theory, so there is a solid foundation to how she teaches. She is a teacher with high standards in that she expects her students to work hard and achieve their potential, and she challenges her students without being harsh. I know that her former students still keep in touch with her regarding their success and progress in college. I have also participated in her summer violin boot camp, which kept students educated, entertained, and stimulated with musical games that she devised. I have seen her as the conductor of the Scottsdale Youth Symphony when she asked me to sit in with that group. I saw a side of her that confirmed her effectiveness as a leader and an inspiration to children. She further demonstrated that leadership ability with other musicians as the concertmaster of the Scottsdale Philharmonic. Based on Myra’s extraordinary knowledge, skills, and ability to teach effectively, there is no doubt in my mind that she is an outstanding violinist and educator whom I would recommend without reservation. We contracted with Myra Lin for a violin/cello duo for our daughter's wedding this past weekend. It was the best decision of the entire event. Myra provided a wide selection of choices of favorite and classical music, and accommodated the couples' specific choices as well. The music played by the duo was absolutely lovely ,perfectly paced to the wedding ceremony, and added immeasurably to the beauty of the experience. My only regret is not contracting the duo for the entire evening. I cannot recommend Myra Lin services (and artistry!) highly enough. Many thanks, so much appreciated!

Myra and Alex made my son's wedding night so special and I feel honored to have had them share their talent with us!! I was tasked with the responsibility of hiring a mariachi guitarist and singer to perform 2 important pieces of the wedding reception - La Marcha (The Wedding March) and La Entegra de Los Novios (The Blessing of the Newlyweds). I searched all over and got nowhere until I found Myra on Thumbtack. While Myra did not know the song, she was willing to learn it. It is an old tradition with many verses that needed to be translated from Spanish to English. Not only did Myra successfully translate, she re-wrote the song to tie back to the original musiand Myra had to do a lot of prep to get the song ready for the performance. heard so much positive feedback about you! Those who were not familiar with the wedding March dance or the Blessing were so intrigued after your performances. I'm sharing the history document with them. Thank you again for all your hard work and for perfect performance!!!!!!

Violin & Guitar duo: Ceremony (1 hour or less): $450.00 Ceremony & Cocktail Hour: $750.00 Ceremony, Cocktail & Dinner: $1,200.00
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually meet with the bride and groom to discuss and find out what their needs are, how the ceremony will run, when they would like us to play and what they would like us to play, any special requests, etc.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have bachelor and masters degrees in violin performance from the University of Southern California. I have over 40 years of performance experience as a soloist and chamber musician. I have performed well over 1000 events.
