FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Like most photographers, I have been shooting for many years, but I started my journey from hobbyist to professional in the dark room, learning the tricks of the trade from the inside out. I earned my BS in Photography in 2012. I began freelancing as a family and wedding photographer, but found my niche in photographing women, then glamour - and my style kind of emerged from there. I have attended workshops, read books and taken several online courses to continue learning and stay up to date with current technology and trends. An absolute must for any photographer that is serious about their work. Anyhow, I left my home-town in Michigan, moved to Arizona and opened my own boutique studio in Phoenix's very own arts district. I now shoot primarily digital portraiture. Specialties include Glamour, Boudoir & Pin-Up.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
My clients are women from all walks of life, but one thing they always seem to have in common is a desire to look and feel beautiful. I work in a private studio with a boudoir set that is timeless, minimalist, and elegant. My primary focus is making sure each woman feels comfortable in their skin by offering styling and wardrobe consultations prior to the day of their shoot and utilizing tried and trusted posing teqniques that flatter any body type and level of comfort. Many of my clients are experiencing boudoir for the first time and I love watching them evolve and embrace their unique beauty. At my studio it's all about having fun and capturing your unique beauty in the best light.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Boudoir photography is a wonderful experience and has many benefits from renewed confidence to heirloom treasures that can be cherished for years to come. When done right, a boudoir shoot is a catalyst for amazing artwork. But choosing the right photographer is essential to creating genuine artwork and sculpting your dream shoot. Think about why you are doing this and what you want to get out of your session and start there and interview your photographer so to speak. Make sure you are comfortable enough to talk with that person as ultimately your trust will be in their hands. Boudoir is often a very private and intimate affair, so before you even begin to plan with that person make sure they are the right fit for your needs.
