Anthony & his team did an amazing job! A large tree root had grown underneath my side patio & lifted/cracked the concrete. Anthony made some suggestions that we agreed on... then demo'd the concrete & poured fresh concrete that was even, clean around the edges + visually just an overall improved look.
He also demo'd an old concrete chimney stand that was an eyesore in my backyard. These guys were great with communication, efficient & on time both days! A pleasure to work with & incredible work ethic for such a demanding physical job.
I appreciate their professional & the quality work! I highly recommend Quality Patios! 5⭐️

I had first given Anthony a five star review due to his friendly demeanor and what seemed like a great job at a very fair price. I was too hasty with my enthusiasm unfortunately. Perhaps this is a "you get what you pay for" situation, although for such a small job I think the payment was still substantial, at least for me. I now regret that I must revise my review.
As stated Anthony was pleasant and turns out to be a neighbor who lived a mile down the street. He admitted he was still learning the ropes from his father who until recently ran the business. I was away on assignment when he did the pour but I was able to check-in via camera. All seemed good at first but I questioned him as to why set the step recessed into the slab, especially without asking me first. I had wanted a single step right in front of the slab as there is dead space on the patio there, it wouldn't reduce the square footage of the slab, water can't pool as easily there and most importantly, when recessed I cannot join the stair railing with the deck railing. I never got a good answer as to why but later I discovered that once the concrete had dried, months later there was still about a 6 sq.ft. area that never dried completely and remained dark. After using both a level and a 32-gal water pour test I found that is where the concrete was perfectly level. Code requires concrete slope at least 1/4" per foot, especially when up against a house like mine is. He dismissed this too; either he didn't know this, which is bad OR he didn't want to admit his mistake, which is worse.
But in my patience and understanding I was happy to give him a chance to address the two issues. I tried reaching him with several text messages over a week, all of which he ignored. Finally he decided to answer and apologized profusely, albeit without explanation. He came by finally and said he could have the step fixed within a few days. I waited however over a week and when I never heard back I texted him. Well it turns out his initial apology was completely insincere because he proceeded to not even acknowledge my repeated texts for a whole month this time! And when I was finally able to speak with him it wasn't because he had a change of heart, but only after I went thru Thumbtack who threatened him with suspension from the site.
Once we he finally called I was not happy and very sick with the flu and laryngitis. He first tried to lie to me but then admitted his lie when I called him out. The gist of it was that he saw my texts but decided to ignore me in hopes I'd go away so he could focus on his bigger, more lucrative jobs. I could understand if he was taking his business in a new direction but this was a job he already agreed to and was immediately paid for, which he is obligated to correct -- and a true professional takes pride in all their work, big or small. I lost six weeks and was helpless with all the items I purchased, cut and prepped because I could not go further on the deck (and the gazebo which I will be building upon it) without the concrete repair. I even told him this in my initial texts over a month but apparently that made no difference to him.
I am giving him one last chance this weekend to see if he shows up and how he repairs/addresses the two issues, but if one has no work ethic nor values his customers and won't even acknowledge them (I would have been willing to work something out with him or find another contractor) I cannot in good faith give any kind of positive review, especially if nothing matters once paid and awarded good reviews. I am sorry that the "carrots" I offered as a neighbor and possible future work for him meant nothing, although he pretended to be enthusiastic. In the end, the only thing that worked for him was a "stick".
You may still wish to give Anthony/Quality Patios a chance if you have a huge commercial job with a high payout, just be prepared for a struggle and to use Thumbtack as leverage.
